TEN BENEFITS OF INDEPENDENCE FOR NEVIS - : (Expanded)
First, independence for Nevis will guarantee ALL Nevisians the fundamental
right to determine and shape their own destiny; and will empower Nevisians
with full control over the affairs of Nevis, including our International,
National Security, and Crime Prevention affairs.
Second, independence for Nevis will grant Nevisians a truer sense of
identity thus preserving our unique history, heritage and culture by promoting
a deep sense of national pride in our own flag, National Anthem and an improved
understanding of our rich history and outstanding accomplishments in sports,
culture, music, academics, banking, tourism, off-shore financial services
and other areas.
Third, independence for Nevis will allow Nevisians to participate in
globalization and regional integration movements as proud co-equals; providing
Nevisians with direct access to all international assistance funding agencies
Fourth, independence for Nevis will harness the economic power of ALL
Nevisians and will guarantee full returns to the Nevis Treasury by directing
all corporate and import duties owed to the People of Nevis to the Nevis
National Treasury to be used for the development of Nevis.

progress and development in the upgrading and rebuilding of our physical
infrastructure.
Sixth, independence for Nevis will help to eliminate costly delays in
endorsing vital projects by granting Nevisians the right, the privilege and
the opportunity to negotiate directly with the primary international assistance
agencies.
Seventh, independence for Nevis will energize our fine cadre of young
Nevisians and mid-level managers, and will empower our young and mature people
with the authority and confidence to take full responsibility for becoming
the leaders of a great new nation of honest proud and hard-working people.
Eight, independence for Nevis will provide direct access to international
sources of funding for education for our youth at local institutions and
Universities abroad. It will provide direct access to funding for sports
including financial support for a National Sports Stadium for hosting One-Day,
regional, and international Test cricket.
Ninth, independence for Nevis will be guided by a Constitution for Nevisians
that is tailored to our unique needs and challenges by focusing on our strengths
while exploring our full potential in building a brighter future.
Tenth, independence for Nevis will be built around a framework of goodwill
for our loved ones, friends and neighbors in St.Kitts, by preserving long-standing
historic ties, through a Treaty of Friendship that binds us.
