This web site was created and is maintain by yours truly Everton 'Swagga' Powell a.k.a. Obi, who is a Certified Web Site Developer and a Mechanical Engineer. I was born and raised on the lovely island of Nevis and migrated to USA to attend college. There at the prestigious Florida A&M University in Tallahassee Florida I acquired a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While working in corporate America I fell in-love with the Internet and its endless possibilities. I immediately saw it as a tool that should be put to good use spreading positive information about the Nevisian Experience. About the Development It occurred to me, that apart from the very few tourist attraction web sites, information about Nevis has not been given a permanent place on the internet. For a long time, the absence of an institutionalized medium for transmitting this information on a continuous basis has been my nagging concern, especially at this time when Nevis is about to exercise its right to achieve full determination. As a result, in July of 2003, I created the site as measure to compensate for the fact that information relative to people from Nevis was not being provided in a continuous manner. In effect, this was my response to what I thought was a pervasive problem with extensive and adverse effects. After all, it is information that is instrumental to the growth and development of Nevisian people and critical to the Nevisian quest for Independence. I do believe that the dissemination of Nevisian information relative to the experience of Nevis peoples, is instrumental to the development of our societies and people, and is of paramount importance in both our domestic affairs and global significance. Acknowledgements I must say a very special thank you to Dr. Everson Hull and the manager and staff of the Voice of Nevis Radio Station (VON Radio) for providing lots of invaluable information. Thanks also goes out to Mr. Hilary Guishard (Doc), Mr. Colin Tyrell, Miss Dereka Walters, Mr. Ron Esdaile and Mr. Mark Brantley for providing moral and editorial support.
